Guard Dogs

Feeling the need to start songwriting again
this time it's personal
all about guard dogs
manipulation modification mutation of the alarm barks of the local canines
a base fom of canine communication?
we sure understand
not to go near them
to turn heel and run
Political symbols of deterring criminals and now, border crossing immigrants
their keen sense of smell allowing them to 'smell past' the disguise of a gym bag
a kids rucksack
to find the hidden, the secret. inside, within, concealed, stuffed,
smuggled (attempting)

feeling the beats,
asked a new/york contact if he'd produce a video
hip hop
something neither of us have done before
walking off the south asian vegan meal down the length of Williamsburg Bridge
found some locations just perfect to film in
large grilled gates and barricades
simulations of those border crossers risk life and limb to climb
not to mention cornered criminals trying to clamber over down a dark alley surrounded by the cops

Sound Samples of recent recordings to be posted soon.

Drug Dogs Aren't Always Right
Often, at border patrol checkpoints, police and U.S. border patrol agents will bring drug dogs around all the cars. If the dogs alert, it could lead to your arrest. At Cates, Hanson, Sargeant & Schoenau, we've had past successes challenging the use of drug dogs to discover drugs.

While these dogs are used often at immigration checkpoints, they're not always right. Sometimes drug dogs are improperly trained. They may be overworked or triggered into alerting by their over-eager handlers. If a drug dog was used in your case, we'll look carefully to make sure that your rights weren't violated. And we'll make that evidence from an illegal search and seizure never enters the courtroom.
